Marine Corp Family Video-Teleconferences (FVTC) throughout the
deployment.

Here is what you will need to know:* The families here in southern CA must be at the Fleet and Family Support Center in

The Marine/Sailor must contact one of the following on the ship:LTjg Whitsett x2304 (Officers)

United Through Reading Program

Good evening,

I wanted to give you a little info on United Through Reading Program.

Your Marine/Sailor can make a DVD of him/her reading a book which is then sent home to their children for them to view.

Please ask your Marine/Sailor about this program. It is a wonderful program that keeps parents close to their children. They can ask the ship representative about it. Also they can ask the Sergeant Major if they can't locate the representative.

Having spent so much time away from my children during deployments I wish I could go back in time and have made these types of DVDS. They are wonderful.

Note this is also a nice thing for teachers and brothers and sisters of the Marine/Sailor. What a great gift.

TIGER CRUISES - What are they?

What are tiger Cruises??

Tiger Cruises are opportunities for family and friends to meet the ship and crew in Pearl Harbor and to sail back to San Diego as guests of the ship.

The only cost is the cost of air travel to Hawaii.

I currently have no information to provide you and please do not buy a ticket expecting to meet them there in the future. Depending on Operational Commitments the tiger cruise may not happen at all.

I just wanted to let you know about it just in case.

MOTTOMAIL - Up and Running

Family and Friends MOTTO MAIL is ready to use. Please log in and try.

***Update - 15th MEU - Update***

The 15th MEU has managed to get one Print Station up and running - so addresses for the 15th MEU have been activated and they are now ready to receive MotoMails.

Work is underway to bring up additional Print Stations, but in the meantime, all MotoMails will be printed at a single location. Therefore, some MotoMails will have to be "cross-decked'- which may cause delays in delivery after printing.

We will update you if or when additional Print Locations are added.

Please keep checking this message board for updates.

TRICARE - Change your Location if you Move Locations

If you decide to move away from San Diego during the deployment make sure you change your TRICARE Provider. Go to the TRICARE Link :

Moving to Another TRICARE Region:When you move to a new TRICARE region, you'll transfer your enrollment to either TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Prime Remote depending on where you live: in a Prime Service Area or a designated TRICARE Prime Remote location. In either case:
Submit a new TRICARE Prime Enrollment and PCM Change Form to your new regional contractor. The enrollment transfer is effective for your whole family when your new regional contractor receives the form. Note: If eligible members of your family reside in different TRICARE regions, the split enrollment feature allows you to enroll in TRICARE Prime together. Learn more about split enrollment.
